As the 3rd wave of COVID19 continues in Canada, families are spending more time preparing meals at home. Increasingly shoppers are turning to frozen foods for all eating occasions from snacks to full meals generating red hot sales lifts across all categories. At Spider, we wanted to gain insights into the shopping behaviour that is driving the sales increase. So, we partnered with Caddle®, Canada’s largest mobile-first insights platform, to conduct a proprietary research study. Over the next few months, we will share some of the results. Here’s a small taste of what we found:
- @Walmart and @Loblaws customers shop the category differently
- Gen X and Millennial frozen food buying habits differ
- 90% of shoppers are buying the same or more frozen foods now vs. last year.
